The stories on this page began life as family history research. However, while they are about my ancestors, when I began writing them, became bigger than my family alone. As such, this pages records the lives of ordinary people such as governesses, shoemakers and sewing machinists, the lives of who tend to go unrecorded by other forms of historical research, together with traditions, celebrations and memories of days gone by.
